Review – Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

twilight 197x300 Review Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

A seventeen-year-old teenager, Bella Swan, moved from Phoenix to Forks, Washington to live with her father. She meets a ‘boy’, named Edward, who, after much internet research, she discovers is a vampire. Once Edward gets over being a vampire and Bella a human, their worlds collide. Although everybody else thinks that it’s weird that Edward is finally dating, Bella and Edward simply don’t care. But their fairytale can’t last forever, and one baseball game changes everything. Suddenly, it’s a race against time, and fate, and it might not end happily ever after…
From the Back of the Book:
About three things I was absolutely positive of:

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him- and i didn’t know how dominant that part might be- that thirsted for my blood.

And third; I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

My Opinion:
Ok! So I know I”m a little “behind the times” on this, but I’ve never really been up on the latest trends.   It took the movie, my sister, my aunt AND my 15 year old son all loving the book and telling me I needed to read it, to finally get me to read the book.  Not even a week later I’ve finished reading New Moon and I’m onto the third, Eclipse.
I’ve always been a fan of vampire novels.  I’ve even written a couple of vampire short stories.  But I’ve never really been interested in the “teeny” novels, even as a teenager.  However, this saga is an exception to the rule.  I absolutely loved this book!  It had adventure, romance (but not too much, just enough to get the heart a fluttering), and vampires.   The characters were strong and I was able to identify with Bella wonderfully… actually she reminded me of myself as a teenager.  Edward was a fantastic vampire as well, definitely worth any teen girls heart.
I would recommend this book for any vampire lover of any age.  Not too much adult situations or language, so it’s good even for the younger crowd.  I can’t wait to see the movie… yes I know I”m behind on that one too, it should be in my mailbox any day now!

My rating: 4.5 stars
****1/2

One Response to “Review – Twilight by Stephenie Meyer”

  • I just finished reading this book and LOVED it. I told myself I wouldn’t get sucked into the Twilight series but I saw the movie and couldn’t resist. Something about the romance and the way Edward feels about Bella that sucks me in. I wish I could find a man that loved me in that way-vampire or not ha!
