About the Book:
Troy Truck, the solar powered and eco-friendly monster truck, explores the island of Maui. He sees incredible things and meets amazing animals on this great adventure. The Did You Know information at the end of this book is fun and educational.
My Opinion:
This is a cute little book full of rhymes, colorful pictures, and great characters. This book reminds me of "Where the Wild Things Are" in it's whimsical rhymes and going through all of the places in Maui and seeing the beautiful things the island has to offer. I've never been to Hawaii, but this book made me want to go. This is definitely one of those books that your little one will want you to read to them over and over. It's cute enough to read and beautiful to look at, that you won't mind it at all. It makes me wish my sons were younger so I could read it to them.
One of my favorite things about the book is at the back of the book it has a long list of the animals and places that were mentioned in the book along with some great information about each item. It's called the "Did You Know..." section. This I think is especially great to go over with y our kids so they can get some edu-tainment out of the book as well! I would highly recommend this book to any parent with a child between the agees of 3 - 8. Maybe a little younger as well, depending on your child's interest level. I would say it would probably be most interesting to little boys since the main character is a Monster Truck, but then again I was a little girl with a ton of Matchbox and Hot Wheels so I would have loved this book too.

One of the many things that I just loved about this book was the absolutely gorgeous illustrations through out the book. There were some of the pages that I would just love to have as a print to hang up on my walls. The scenery was simply beautiful and complimented the story perfectly. My personal favorites were the pictures of the dolphins and whales. They looked like they could just jump out of the book! I certainly hope there will be more Troy Truck books and if there are, I hope that Mandy Hedrick is illustrating them!

This sounds like a great book. I will have to look into it. I work with Mandy (the illustrator) and think I can convince her to make some posters and T-shirts from the illustrations, if the publisher permits her to.

This book does sound cute, and one that children would love.
Of course I’m partial to Mandy’s illustrations any way and every where they are found.

Boy oh Boy monster trucks are everywhere, this book sounds like a really neat character and story. I have never heard of it, but with my interest in monster trucks I will definitely have to get on and read it.
