My Opinion

I'm a sucker for dogs.  I love them, grew up with them, and will have a dog as soon as we have the room for one.  One of my all time favorite TV shows is Animal Cops on Animal Planet.  My heart breaks to see some of the horrible things that us humans do to animals.  That's why when we do get a dog, it will be a rescue dog.  That is why I love this book!  Although the book reading level is set for 9-12  year olds, it is a great book for anyone who loves dogs.

This is a tale of one rescue dogs story of love, abandonment, and rescue.  Tilly's Tale is the first in a series of dog tales by Harry Porter.  Each book will be about a different dog that Harry Porter and his family have rescued.  These stories are written from the point of view of the dog, and they are beautiful stories.  These books will not only teach young kids about how to treat animals, and why we should rescue them, but it will also touch the hearts of the adults who read the books as well.  This is definitely a wonderful book and series of books for all ages!

Mandy Hedrick is the illustrator of the book and she does an amazing job of drawing the lovable dogs and how they see the world.  I absolutely love her drawings.  They are expresive and emotional and add to the book perfectly.
