The Long Way Home by Andrew Klavan
The Long Way Home (The Homelanders)
By Andrew Klavan*corrected
Back of the Book:
From Edgar Award winning and best-selling author Andrew Klavan comes the second novel in the Homelanders series.
Charlie West was an ordinary high school kid who went to bed one night and woke up in the clutches of terrorists and wanted by the police for murder.
Now, with both the terrorists and the cops on his trail, Charlie makes his way home to find some answers. Holed up in an abandoned mansion, Charlie is joined by his high school buddies as he tries to find the truth about a murder he can’t remember–and recover the love he can’t forget.
Summary:
This is an action packed, adventure novel about a young man who finds himself in the middle of big trouble and with no memory of what happened in the last year. Charlie is accused and convicted of his best friend Alex, a fugitive from the police and being hunted down by terrorists who think he joined their group and betrayed them. Now, all alone, except for his beliefs in himself, his country and his religion, he has to figure out what happened to him and his friend Alex without getting killed or put back into jail.
My Opinion:
This is the first Second book in the Homelanders series by Andrew Klavan. I’m excited to read the next ones! The action starts on page one and keeps going all the way to the very last page! Full of adventure and good morals/ethics, this is a must read for anyone. Being a homeschooler of two teen boys, I”m also giving this book to them to read as part of their school. Although I think they are going to love it! I know I did!
Although full of Christian and Patriotic values, this book isn’t preachy about it. They are just good values that anyone would want to have their children read and understand. This is an excellent book for young adults from early teen on up. I highly recommend this book to anyone, but especially young men between 13 – 20.
*My appologies! I mistakenly said this was the “first” in the Homelanders series, but it is actually the second book in the series. Obviously this means that this book is good enough to stand on it’s own and you don’t HAVE to read the first one to be able to enjoy this one. Sorry for the confusion!
