Teen Thursday

As my boys got older, it got a little harder for me to find books that were just right for them.  One, being boys, there's really not a lot of books out there for them... at least not as teenagers.  Most of the books that are for teenagers are for teen girls... romance,  main character is a girl, and girly plots.   Not really what teen boys want to read.  So when I come across some good books for my boys, I nearly shove them down their throats.  LOL!  Well not literally.  So here are a few of those books that I have given to my sons to read and some that are good for girls too.

The Curse Workers: White Cat by Holly Black - I did a review of this book recently.  It's an excellent book for boys, since the main character is a young man.  It has magic, mystery, and even a little bit of romance (but not too much icon wink Teen Thursday .  My youngest is reading it now, my oldest will be reading it next.  This is the second book in a series.

The Long Way Home by Andrew Klavan - I did a review of this book as well, and absolutely loved it.  It's got a lot of action, adventure, mystery and a teeensy bit of romance in it as well.  Plus it's very partiotic with some good morals.  My youngest read it, he's 14, and really enjoyed it!

Journey of Dreams by marge Pellegrino - This is a bit of a heart wrenching book.  Definitely for older, more mature kids.  Maybe a little too educational for some kids, but definitely a good one.  Main character is a young girl.

Just Breeze by Beverly Stowe McClure - This is a cute coming of age book for young girls, between the ages of 10 - 14.  Definitely not one for boys.  Cute book, reminded me of when I was in Jr. High.

I So Don't Do Spooky by Barrie Summy Teen Thursday- A review is coming very soon on this book, so stay tuned to find out more about it!

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams Teen Thursday - This isn't just a great book for adults, it's a great book for older teens.  Although I'd say the humor is mostly good for boys, it's good for girls as well.. after all I'm a girl and I liked it.  But my oldest son LOVED this book and the entire series of Hitchhiker books!

This isn't a complete list, just a few that I have on hand, ones that I've reviewed, will review, or comes highly recommended by my sons.  So I hope you like the list and maybe will come back next time to see more great Teen Books!
