About the Book

This is book 3 of Lydia Dare's Westfield Brothers series about a family of Lycans.  The Wolf Next Door takes place in the 1800's in Europe, where the Westfield brother's live with their inner beast and the women they love.  The Wolf Next Door is about William Westfield who fell in love with the "Girl Next Door" a long time ago, but because of his beastly self, never felt safe in loving her.  That is until another Lycan came into her life and started suiting her.  William decided that he needed to be the one to marry Prisca instead.  Of course he made a lot of mistakes in pursuing his love but it all turns out for the best in the end.

My Opinion

I have always been a Vampire lover.  They have always held a sexy appeal for me.  That is until now.  Lydia Dare and her Westfield Brother Lycans have totally won me over to the Werewolf camp!  They are sexy, mysterious, dangerous and simply irresistible!  I never would have expected to be won over by werewolves, but I have.  And these books did it.

In The Wolf Next Door, William Westfield is the heart broken scoundrel who only became a scoundrel to save his long time love, Prisca.  The unconditional and total love he had for her was so strong that he couldn't let himself harm her in any way.  So he kept himself from being with her for so long to keep her safe.  When he finds out another, more dangerous and untrained Lycan is interested in her, all bets are off and he finally allows himself to show her how much he loves her.

This is a wonderfully romantic and sexy story of almost star crossed lovers.  The sex scenes are amazingly arousing!  More importantly though, the story itself is griping and keeps you reading it all the way through.  It's definitely a book you won't want to put down.  The characters are all very likable and easy to relate to.  The story is well written and the sex scenes are fantastic!  This is definitely a great book!

I would recommend this book to any woman who loves the paranormal and period style romance novel.  You don't necessarily have to have read the first two books to read this one, but there are a few characters that you know better from the earlier books that show up in this one.  I haven't read Lydia Dare's first novel in the series, but did read the second one, and knowing those characters was a plus for this book.  I can't wait to read the next in the series as well!  If you love romance novels with paranormal stuff in it, then you'll love this book!
