Books 4 Moms

As some of you may know, I participated in going through a 100 day program with Honoree Corpron Corder that she wrote a book about.  This is one of the best self help books out there, and maybe the only one out there specifically for single moms.  Now Honoree is giving away a signed copy of her book!  All you have to do to enter is go to her website The Successful Single Mom, and leave a comment about a challenge that you faced and came through.  Honoree is a great friend and an excellent coach.  Whether your a single mom or not, this book will help you get you back on track and find the courage to get through anything!

I was given a unique opportunity to be a part of this "Grab Bag Book Tour" from Blogging for Books, presented by Multnomah Books, a division of Random House publishing.  Those who participated in this book tour would get 2 randomly selected books to review.  I was pleasantly surprised at how good the two books that I received were.  What surprised me most was that I didn't realize I was receiving two Christian titles!  I'm not a Christian, so I wasn't sure I would appreciate these books as much as I did.  I enjoyed them greatly though!

Finding Happiness: Monastic Steps for a Fulfilling Life by Abbot Christopher Jamison

In his second book, Abbot Christopher Jamison explains how the Benedictine Monks find happiness.  Abbot Jamison takes you through the "Seven Deadly Thoughts", also known as the 7 deadly sins, and teaches you how to take those thoughts and turn them around to make them positive things in your life, rather than negative things.  Using the Bible and "The Institutes" written by  J. This is one of the books that inspired "The Secret", and should be studied along with it.  Written in the early 1900's, it can be a little difficult to understand at times, but still has wonderful ideas that are relavent today.

It is written as a text book, with each small paragraph numbered, and lessons at the end of each chapter.  It takes you from the very beginning concept of the Law of Attraction, to learning how to visualize and create your own reality.

I have been studying this book for several month now, and I have felt a huge change in myself and the world around me.  Part of that change is in this website and several of my other sites.  I know that what I want out of the world is to be financially secure, and to have abundance of everything. 

I believe that if you read this book, and impletment it into your life, you will learn how to do the same thing.  "The Master Key System" has been given away free on many other websites, and it is free here as well.  There are some things, some truths that should never be charged for, and this is one of those truths.

I've been on a path of enlightenment for more than 18 years now.  I've read literally tons of books, new age, spiritual, self-help, occult, and anything else I could get my hands on.  They all say basically the same thing that "The Secret" does, but there is a difference in this book, something that none of the others have.  That's mass appeal.

Yes, there are some people who would say that it’s just more of the same, and to a certain extent, it is.  However, this book puts the Universal Laws that I've read about many times before, in a way that makes it seem just a little more practical, a little more reachable.  That's why so many people have read the book, and why it has changed so many lives. 

It doesn't matter how many times you hear the same thing over again, what matters is when you stop hearing it, and start living it.  Think back to when you were a teenager.  I'm sure there is that one thing your parents kept drilling in your heads, that one thing that you HATED to hear, over and over. Now that you are an adult, you probably understand it better, maybe even heard the same words coming out of your mouth to your teenager.  I know I have.  The Secret is just like that.  Not really "new" information, but it makes more sense now.

For a lot of people, it's their first taste of some of the Universal Laws mentioned in the book.  For them, this is a fantastic book.  It doesn't put any religious leanings in it, so it'll appeal to just about everyone.  It's very easy to understand, and gives a lot of wonderful resources to expand further in your studies. 

For the person who's more familiar with the Universal Laws, this is a good quick read, like a refresher course.  For me, it was like a confirmation of my beliefs and understandings.  It also gave me very real, very easy techniques to implement into my everyday life.

So if you're looking for something new, this really isn't all that new.  But if you're looking for easy to understand, step by step guide, for the newbie or expert, this is a great book.  I recommend this book to just about everyone I know.
